Information we collect through the mobile app
When you register and use the RK Jewellery mobile app, we collect the following information to provide our digital gold purchase and savings scheme services:
- Account details: your name, mobile number, email address, and a secure MPIN used to protect access to your account.
- KYC documents: to comply with Indian regulatory requirements for gold purchase and savings schemes, we collect images of your PAN card and Aadhar card. These are used solely for identity verification.
- Profile photo: an optional photo you choose to upload to personalise your account.
- Transaction data: your gold purchase and sale orders, savings scheme (SIP) enrolments and instalments, and wallet transaction history.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, and push notification tokens, used to deliver notifications and keep the app secure.
Uploaded documents and photos are stored securely on encrypted cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) and are not shared with outside parties except as required by law.
Device permissions the app requests and why
The RK Jewellery mobile app requests the following device permissions. Each permission is optional and is requested only when you use the related feature:
- Camera: to let you take a photo for your profile picture or capture images of your KYC documents (PAN and Aadhar card) for identity verification. The camera is used only when you initiate it; the app never accesses your camera in the background.
- Photos / media library: to let you choose an existing photo from your device for your profile picture or KYC document upload. We access only the photos you explicitly select.
- Notifications: to send you payment and transaction confirmations, gold rate updates, and savings scheme reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings without losing access to any app feature.
Declining any of these permissions does not prevent you from using the app; it only limits the specific feature that needs it.
Payments
Payments in the app are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. When you make a payment, your name, email address, and mobile number are shared with Razorpay to process the transaction. We do not collect or store your full card numbers, CVV, or banking passwords on our servers. Razorpay's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy policy.
Third-party services used by the app
The app relies on the following third-party services, each of which receives only the data needed to perform its function:
- Razorpay — payment processing (name, email, mobile number, transaction details).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivery of push notifications (push notification token and basic device identifiers).
- Amazon Web Services — secure hosting of our backend and encrypted storage of uploaded documents and photos.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking in the app.
Data retention and account deletion
We retain your account and transaction information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter as required by applicable Indian financial and tax regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at info@rkjewellery.org from your registered email address, or by calling +91 99948 07208. Upon verification, we will delete your personal data except for records we are legally required to retain.
